As I was browsing different ceramic pieces, this set stood out to me. It caught my eye because of the well blended spectrum of blues on the uniquely designed cups. I admire how the artist gave functional cups an aesthetic design. Each cup in the set has individuality, yet they are all consistently the same. The cups sort of have a classy, but artsy look to them in my opinion and I think that it's cool.

Robert Arneson was definitely a very unique artist than most who wasn't afraid to expose the vulgarity and honesty of reality. In this sculpture, he voices his political views of being a "vehicle" for anger and pain. He once said, " I want to make high art that is funny, outrageous and also reveals the human condition, which is not always high.”
