Shoji Hamada

Shoji Hamada was a Japanese potter. He was a significant influence on studio pottery of the twentieth century. While looking at his art this plate really stood out to me from the others. The dark colors against the off white gives it that pop. Its design comes off as simple yet clearly done freehand. The loose flowing line design is really what completes the plate in my eyes.
