Maria Longworth Nichols

This is a thrown vase by the artist Maria Longworth Nichols. I love this piece because of the rimed detail at the top and the flowers over the entire vase. The white peddle adds a pop of color that is pleasing to the eye. The shades of blue reminds me of the waves of the ocean and proves a calming effect as well as the texture detail in the boarder at the top of the vase. I really enjoy this piece by Maria Longworth Nichols.

Al Wei Wei is a a Chinese artist most famous for his contemporary work. He takes old pots and is able to refurbish them into more modern pieces of ceramics. His work is displayed in an art gallery with a picture of himself dropping his own ceramic pot. I find his pieces very interesting because they put a modern twist on an older piece of art.

Terracotta Warriors

This is a re-do on an a terracotta warrior, with bright colors. Roughly 700,000 workers created the terracotta figures for the Emperor and each soldier has its own unique facial expression. It is very fined detailed in my opinion and found very interesting that there is a story behind all these warrior at the time of Qin Shin Huang.
