Pinch/ Coil Pot

As I was looking for new pots, this hand built pinch coil pot caught my eye. The structure is firm and unique. You have here two things: a coil and pinch pot in one vase. I also loved the blue color, it brings me at peace.

Bernard Leach Pottery

            This is a Bernard Leach ceramic piece. This marmalade jar was painted blue and has brown designs over a cream ground. The rim is thin and has a notch for a spoon which I thought was useful for its purpose.  I enjoy the contemporary design and the simple shape of the jar. The brush work of the glaze gives the piece a sophisticated look and feel to it, which I enjoyed.

Al Wei Wei

Al Wei Wei is a a Chinese artist most famous for his contemporary work. He takes old pots and is able to refurbish them into more modern pieces of ceramics. His work is displayed in an art gallery with a picture of himself dropping his own ceramic pot. I find his pieces very interesting because they put a modern twist on an older piece of art.
