Dinner Party
The Dinner Party by Judy Chicago functions as a symbolic history of women. Each place setting includes a plate, chalice, a napkin and utensils. The sides of the triangle displayed different women from a particular era. This particular setting is dedicated to Hypatia from the Eastern Roman Empire. Hypatia of Alexandria was the first woman to make significant advances in the fields of mathematics and philosophy and was also a respected teacher and astronomer. The plate stood out to me and I like the use of different colors and how elegant it looks.
