Robert Arneson



Robert Arneson was an American sculptor and ceramicist who is considered as the father of Funk Art. I chose this piece because I feel it represents his "Funk Art", I think it is very unique and speaks to who he was as an artist. This piece looks very intricate in detail in the face but realistic at the same time and below the face it is realistically looking for a dog.

Al Wei Wei

Al Wei Wei is a a Chinese artist most famous for his contemporary work. He takes old pots and is able to refurbish them into more modern pieces of ceramics. His work is displayed in an art gallery with a picture of himself dropping his own ceramic pot. I find his pieces very interesting because they put a modern twist on an older piece of art.

Terracotta Warriors

This is a re-do on an a terracotta warrior, with bright colors. Roughly 700,000 workers created the terracotta figures for the Emperor and each soldier has its own unique facial expression. It is very fined detailed in my opinion and found very interesting that there is a story behind all these warrior at the time of Qin Shin Huang.
