Handmade Tableware Article

Image
The article states how people in the 21st century often forget to appreciate hand-crafted homeware. Factory made pots are beautiful, but do not fulfill the same aspect as a handmade piece. Hand-crafted pottery creates a connection between inanimate objects and the spirit of the artist, which then further connects to the user. I came across these ceramic bowls and thought that this would be something I'd have in my house. I really enjoy the color gradients and the texture.

Abstract Ceramics

I personally think this ceramic piece is amazing, and it is because I don't understand how exactly the managed to put it together and keep it still for the firing. I imagine that the artist must have had to keep some sort of structure made around the piece while it was fired to keep it in shape.

Ceramic pots

I love this set of pots. They are a perfect center piece for any table or piano topper. I love the lip rim at the top. The glaze coloring chosen  for the pots is a perfect neural for a home or fall decor. I love how inside looks red almost and the smallest pot looks a little more rounded. You can put anything in these from flowers, fall garnish to keys. They are very versatile

Ceramic Pot

I chose this pot because I really like how simple yet elegant it is. I love the texture and how the folds appear all around. I'm not sure how this pot was made, maybe pinch, but it was defiantly carved out.

Pinch/ Coil Pot

As I was looking for new pots, this hand built pinch coil pot caught my eye. The structure is firm and unique. You have here two things: a coil and pinch pot in one vase. I also loved the blue color, it brings me at peace.

Pinch Pot - Sea Shell

It appears this pot was created using the pinch pot method.  I thought this piece of ceramic looked really interesting and I  like how it resembles something that may have been found on the bottom of the ocean floor.  I admire the intrinsic detail the artist used to created the texture of the bowl and I think colors used as well really draw attention to this piece of artwork.
