Aladdin Vase, 1882

I really admire the 3-D design that Storer adds to this vase. The intricate details i.e. the gold accents and glossy glaze are also very beautiful. The dragon brings the vase to life and makes the art work truly unique. The dragon and catfish are common motifs in Japanese folklore. Storer was fascinated with Japanese art and culture. This vase is a prime example of her interest and desire to push beyond creative limits.
