Bernard Leach

This large vase by Bernard Leach was made in 1965. I really like the design he added to it. Online it says it is an inlay design. This means it was made by adding material like wood or silver onto the surface of the clay. The image he made remind me of a simple swan, while at the same time it can look like a growing flower with two leafs.

Al Wei Wei is a a Chinese artist most famous for his contemporary work. He takes old pots and is able to refurbish them into more modern pieces of ceramics. His work is displayed in an art gallery with a picture of himself dropping his own ceramic pot. I find his pieces very interesting because they put a modern twist on an older piece of art.

Terracotta Warriors

This is a re-do on an a terracotta warrior, with bright colors. Roughly 700,000 workers created the terracotta figures for the Emperor and each soldier has its own unique facial expression. It is very fined detailed in my opinion and found very interesting that there is a story behind all these warrior at the time of Qin Shin Huang.
