Bernard Leach

Bernard Leach was a British studio potter and art teacher. He is regarded as the "Father of British studio pottery." The Leach Pottery was founded in 1920 by Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada in St Ives, Cornwall, in the United Kingdom. Personally I love simplicity especially when it comes to pottery. This piece is simple yet elegant. The blue stands out nicely against the white. This piece isn't overwhelmed with design. Its one blue swipe is enough design to make this pot so beautiful.

Al Wei Wei is a a Chinese artist most famous for his contemporary work. He takes old pots and is able to refurbish them into more modern pieces of ceramics. His work is displayed in an art gallery with a picture of himself dropping his own ceramic pot. I find his pieces very interesting because they put a modern twist on an older piece of art.

Terracotta Warriors

This is a re-do on an a terracotta warrior, with bright colors. Roughly 700,000 workers created the terracotta figures for the Emperor and each soldier has its own unique facial expression. It is very fined detailed in my opinion and found very interesting that there is a story behind all these warrior at the time of Qin Shin Huang.
