Maria Longworth Nichols Storer

This vase by Maria Longworth Nichols Storer really caught my eye because of the bright coloring and pattern. The design really stands out compared to many of the other ceramic designs I've chosen before. The article posted says the Maria hired many artists and chemists to help her create different colors for her vases. It can really be seen through this piece of art. I also really like how the vase has bright pieces of gold throughout it, and the texture that it has throughout the top portion of the vase.

Al Wei Wei is a a Chinese artist most famous for his contemporary work. He takes old pots and is able to refurbish them into more modern pieces of ceramics. His work is displayed in an art gallery with a picture of himself dropping his own ceramic pot. I find his pieces very interesting because they put a modern twist on an older piece of art.

Terracotta Warriors

This is a re-do on an a terracotta warrior, with bright colors. Roughly 700,000 workers created the terracotta figures for the Emperor and each soldier has its own unique facial expression. It is very fined detailed in my opinion and found very interesting that there is a story behind all these warrior at the time of Qin Shin Huang.
