Maria Longworth Rookwood Pottery

In 1880, Maria Longworth founded Rookwood Pottery. Rookwood Pottery is the painting of blank tableware. The piece above is an example of Rookwood Pottery. I really find this piece interesting, as I feel it gives off a certain mood or feeling. I like how the piece makes it appear as if the mushrooms are somewhere foggy, especially due to the fact that the two mushrooms behind the one in the front are more faint in color. I also like how darker color was used near the bottom and lighter colors at the top, giving the imagery of ground and sky. Overall I find the colors used and the detail on the three mushrooms very interesting.
