Salt glaze pot

This pottery piece by Bernard Leach is very unique to me because it encompasses an architectural design which truly makes this piece unlike any other. I admire the textured "rocky" handle on the pot and the pot's resemblance to a house. The overall design of the pot is very intricate. Salt glaze pottery dates back to the eighteenth century. The pottery has a "grayish white surface with a texture like an orange peel. Salt glaze was made by throwing salt into the kiln while the pottery was being fired."
