Ai Weiwei

This piece of artwork by Ai Weiwei is called Grapes and was made in 2014. It is made with a total of 32 wooden stool from the Qing Dynasty. These stools can be found in almost every countryside home in rural China, and they are often passed down from generation to generation. Weiwei compared how these chairs are all knitted together to how he was knitted to everyone through the Web when he was under house arrest. I think it is interesting how all of the stools are resting on just one of the stools at the bottom; it is the major support piece of this project.
