Al Weiwei is a Chinese-American contemporary artist and activist who is often vocal in support of Asian-Americans in the art scene. His collaborates with a number of artists and also works on various projects across different fields. Many of his ceramic pieces like the one above, evoke a sense of nature and the world we experience every day. The piece above reminds me of the ocean on the Jersey shore and all of the feelings that accompany those trips, as the waves are remarkably accurate.
