Reflection on "Home Cooking" article

Handmade pottery, unlike paintings and sculptures, has always been attainable to people regardless of their social class. In the article, Shannon Garson explained the importance of valuing hand-made pottery. Pottery ware has been influenced by the "fast-food" era we live in today. Americans want things done quick and productively; that is where the art of ceramics may suffer. Factory made ware steals the authenticity and creativity from ceramic pieces. Hand-made pottery has a much greater significance for not only the artist but the user. Appreciating the time and skills it takes to create a ceramic piece by hand is something ceramic users should not neglect.
I chose the picture above because it is a great example of the uniqueness of hand-made table ware. Each piece is glazed and rusted over different than the rest.
